Project RISE trains Balayan community leaders

JUL 1, 2022

A simultaneous Master Trainer Program (MTP) was conducted by the PTC Project RISE Team and Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), in partnership with the Municipality of Balayan, Batangas, last June 22, 2022.

Representatives from 46 Barangays and 31 Schools designated as Evacuation Centers in the municipality participated in the MTP, which was made possible through the coordination and support of the Balayan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO). Program (CTP).

The MTP is part of the roll-out of Project RISE in Balayan, where the Master Trainers are comprehensively trained on disaster preparedness and response by Mr. Fred Dalumpines of the Aboitiz Foundation. As they complete the training and become Master Trainers, they are tasked to train their community members and conduct the Citizens' Training Program (CTP).

Both the MTP and CTP aim to capacitate individuals and leaders on Disaster Preparedness and Response, which in turn builds a more resilient Balayan and cultivates the value of disaster resiliency among Balayeños.
