Students at the Midway Colleges are now ready to use adaptive learning materials, or "A-books," that will help pave the path for them to become global maritime professionals with the help of PTC and TERP.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed by Mr. Sabino Czar Manglicmot II, CEO of Midway Colleges Inc.; Capt. Ronald SJ Enrile of PTC's Talent Acquisition Team; Capt. Florencio Jampil, PTC Business Development Director for Crewing and Shipmanagement; and TERP Asia-Pacific Ltd. COO Mr. Mike Esplago to officially begin the initiative.
First established in 1988, Midway Colleges is a pioneer of maritime education in Nueva Ecija, and offers educational programs on maritime, entrepreneurship, information systems, and technical teacher education.
During the MOA signing last December 20, 2022, Mr. Sabino Czar Manglicmot II, Midway Colleges Inc. CEO said, " The effects of the pandemic were very serious, especially in the education sector, where students are struggling to have the right resources to learn in school. Even though our areas do have good internet connections, we still have a lot of students residing in remote areas of Nueva Ecija. That alone is a hindrance to our student's learning, especially during a pandemic. But I am confident that through this partnership, students will be able to learn and still be academically competent.”
Capt. Enrile in turn said, “As part of PTC's advocacy, we work with many organizations to help maritime students as much as we can. We are glad that, through our partnership with TERP, we are able to share the resources that will help the students continue their learning journey. And we are happy that Midway Colleges is also committed to using the A-Books in your programs so that we can all help the students achieve their dreams, not only for themselves but for their families as well.”
