FEBRUARY 8, 2024

The PTC RISE Program team participated in the Multihazard Platform Launching of our RISE Program Resilience Partner, MapaKalamidad.ph last January 29, 2024, at the Novotel Manila in Araneta.

Led by PTC Talent Acquisition Group Program Manager Hector Brizuela, with RISE Lead Program Officer Josh McCarver and RISE Program Associate Crystal Lopez, the team was able to grasp the multihazard platform functions and features of the web-based platform, which now includes Earthquake, Volcanic Eruption, and Typhoon reporting together with its initial feature, Flood Reporting.

Ms. Nashin Kelash Mahtani, MapaKalamidad.ph, and Yayasan Peta Bencana Executive Director, welcomed and thanked everyone who became part of this milestone, which included Civil Defense Philippines Operations Services Director Cesar Idio and USAID Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance Representative Ms. Rachel Gallagher.

MapaKalamidad.ph is a free web-based, open-source platform that harnesses the power of social media during emergency events to gather real-time and on-the-ground updates from residents.
