The Philippine Transmarine Carriers (PTC) RISE Program team successfully facilitated its RISE Master Trainer Program (MTP) for Imus City on October 5 at the City Wellness Center, New Imus City Hall.
Representatives of the different Homeowners Associations (HOA) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) were trained comprehensively on five Disaster Risk Reduction modules designed to educate them on what to do before, during, and after natural hazards to prevent disasters from happening. 
The Imus City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) Department Head Ms. Marisel Cayetano, in her Welcome Remarks, thanked Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. and RISE Program for conducting these meaningful activities for Imuseños, and confirmed their continuous support for the upcoming PTC RISE Program components to be facilitated in Imus City.
The City Government of Imus, represented by Vice Mayor Homer Saquilayan, encouraged the RISE MTP participants to share their learnings with their fellow community members so they may also better prepare for any impending natural hazard that might lead to disaster. 
The training included an orientation on the M.O.D Board Game, by the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), which helped the RISE MTP participants learn more about the common disasters in the Philippines. RISE also invited its Resilience Partner, MapaKalamidad.ph on the first day of the training to deliver a module on Simple Tools on Hazard and Weather Monitoring.
Led by MapaKalamidad.ph Project and Partnerships Manager Sen Roxas, with Communications and Public Relations Officer Kate Dela Cruz, the RISE MTP participants were oriented on how to use the MapaKalamidad.ph web platform to report instances of hazards in real-time. |
