Ronald SJ Enrile. Other distinguished guests included Association for Cruises Development of Taiwan Chairman JP Tseng, Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA) Trustee Fe Abling Yu, Palafox Associates Founder Architect Felino Palafox, Jr., DOT Director Paulo Tugbang and DOT National Capital Region Director Sharlene Zabala-Batin ![]() Karen Avelino, PTC Executive Director of Business Development, Shipping, and Senior Vice President of Cruise Operations was the moderator in the afternoon session panel discussion on “Marketing the Filipino Workforce: Demand and Supply; Strengths and Challenges” participated by Capt. Enrile, Capt. Antonio Ladera, Maita Pangilinan, and Atty. Ronald de Guzman. ![]() “When the organizers of this cruise convention approached us and asked assistance to put together and promote this event, I, together with Capt. Jampil did not hesitate to extend guidance and support because I believe the cruise industry holds significant importance both economically and socially, contributing to the various areas of local and global economies. The best part of this event was that we were able to promote the PTC brand and its various business units and bring in job opportunities to thousands of Filipino global maritime professionals in the global cruise industry,“ said Capt. Enrile. Capt. Jampil added “This type of activity draws the attention of government officials and policymakers. We hope that through this effort we will be able to develop more supportive policies, improved regulations, and other government initiatives aimed at strengthening the cruise industry in the Philippines.” |
