The PTC RISE Program team successfully conducted a Family Disaster Preparedness Lecture and Master of Disaster (MOD) Board Game Session for the employees and stakeholders of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) on August 20, 2025, at IRRI Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna.

The program gathered over 50 participants and aimed to enhance awareness and readiness in responding to hazards and risks that may lead to disasters. Program Manager Hector Brizuela led the Family Disaster Preparedness Lecture, emphasizing the importance of equipping families with the right knowledge and strategies to strengthen resilience during emergencies.

Adding an interactive component to the activity, Lead Program Officer Josh McCarver facilitated the RISE MOD Board Game Session, where participants engaged in a fun yet educational experience that reinforced key concepts of disaster preparedness and response.

The PTC RISE Program extends its gratitude to IRRI’s leadership, particularly Deputy Director General for the Philippines Junel B. Soriano, along with Community Relations and Partnerships Office Manager Jun Correa and Program Officer Jipsey Tandang, for their invaluable support in making this initiative possible. Through collaborations like this, PTC continues to advance its mission of empowering communities with the tools and knowledge needed to stay safe and resilient.
