PTC proudly congratulates Michelle Belling, a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation student from the Mapúa-PTC College of Maritime Education and Training (Mapúa-PTC CMET) at the Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna, for being named one of the Top 20 Finalists for the Ten Outstanding Maritime Students of the Philippines (TOMSP) 2025.
Michelle is a scholar of the PTC-CSJ Foundation’s Nurturing Future Seafarers (NFS) Project, Batch 3, and serves as an ambassador of the MMCL College of Maritime Education and Training. Beyond her academic and leadership pursuits, she has actively contributed to community initiatives, including her volunteer work at the Los Baños Creek Clean-Up Initiative 2024.
Her selection comes after a rigorous screening process that evaluated 55 nominees from maritime schools across the country. Four independent panels assessed each candidate on academics, leadership, social responsibility, and project proposals, carefully ranking participants after more than eight hours of deliberation. Only those who consistently earned Top 20 marks or met deliberation standards advanced to the finalist stage.
The TOMSP 2025 journey will culminate at the Awarding Ceremonies on September 28, 2025, where this year’s Ten Outstanding Maritime Students of the Philippines will be honored. PTC celebrates Michelle’s outstanding achievement and wishes her the very best as she continues to represent her school, her peers, and the values of excellence and service in the maritime profession.
