The Filipino Shipowners Association (FSA) hosted a luncheon meeting on May 14, 2025, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati City to welcome the incoming Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), Mr. Thomas A. Kazakos, and honor outgoing Secretary General, Mr. Guy Platten. Among the distinguished guests was Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, underscoring the Philippine government’s support for maritime development and global industry partnerships.

Representing The PTC Group was CEO Gerardo A. Borromeo, Vice President of FSA, along with FSA Board Members Capt. Ronald SJ Enrile and Ms. Karen Avelino, as well as Capt. Pol Haboc, Engr. Peter Lugue and MGen Restituto Padilla Jr. Their participation reflected PTC’s commitment to engaging with global maritime leaders and supporting initiatives that advance the local shipping industry.

Ms. Avelino also served as host of the event, which fostered meaningful exchanges between Filipino shipowners and ICS leadership. Discussions focused on industry collaboration and shared challenges in global shipping.

The luncheon reaffirmed the Philippines’ vital role in international maritime affairs and PTC’s dedication to helping shape a stronger, future-ready industry for Filipino maritime professionals.
