We are proud to announce that Ms. Karen Avelino, PTC’s Executive Director of Business Development for Shipping and Senior Vice President of Cruise Operations, has been re-elected as a member of the InterManager Executive Committee. This reaffirms her influential role in shaping the future of global ship and crew management.

Ms. Avelino was elected during InterManager’s Annual General Meeting in London on January 29, 2025. At the same meeting, she also served as a panelist for the discussion “Crew Think Tank: Future of Our Industry – How to Deal with Current Challenges of Recruitment, Enclosed Space Deaths, Lifeboat Accidents, and Criminalization.” Additionally, she presented a plaque of appreciation on behalf of the Department of Migrant Workers to Mr. Mark O’Neill, the former President of InterManager, recognizing his invaluable contributions to the organization.

InterManager is the leading international trade association dedicated to upholding high standards in ship management, advocating for seafarer welfare, and driving industry-wide best practices. Ms. Avelino’s continued leadership in this esteemed organization underscores PTC’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and progress in the maritime sector.

Ms. Avelino, Mr. Bjorn Jebsen, Chairman of Jebsen PTC Inc., and the rest of the Executive Committee will support newly elected InterManager President Sebastian von Hardenberg, CEO of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), as they work together to advance key industry initiatives. Their collective leadership will be instrumental in addressing critical challenges and ensuring the continued development of global maritime standards.
