Capt. Ronald Enrile, Senior Adviser of the PTC Shipping Cluster, has been elected President of the Ship Managers Association of the Philippines (SMAP). In his new leadership role, he aims to drive greater collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence within the maritime industry.
Shortly after his election, Capt. Enrile, alongside the newly appointed SMAP officers, paid a courtesy visit to Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Administrator Sonia Malaluan on February 6. This meeting served as a vital platform to discuss key maritime challenges and reinforce cooperation between SMAP and MARINA.
A central topic of discussion was the collective effort of ship managers to enhance safety standards across the maritime sector. Both parties underscored the importance of developing stringent safety protocols, promoting industry best practices, and ensuring the well-being of seafarers and maritime professionals.
With Capt. Enrile at the helm, SMAP is set to play a key role in fostering a safer, more efficient, and globally competitive maritime industry.
