The DOLE Regional Consultation and National Validation Workshop was successfully conducted from December 3 to 5, 2025, at the Swiss-Belhotel Blulane Hotel in Manila, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), and other key stakeholders.
The workshop built upon inputs gathered during the regional consultation on Department Orders Nos. 129, 130, and 132, series of 2013, providing a platform to validate recommendations, finalize proposed amendments, and ensure alignment with current maritime industry standards and labor practices.
Representatives from Jebsen PTC Maritime, Inc., including Jaime S. Agub Jr., HR and Admin Manager; Ira A. Rambano, Senior Quality Assurance Manager; and Randall C. Reyes, Fleet Head, actively participated, contributing sector-specific insights. The discussions were expertly facilitated by Atty. Felichie Ericka Valeriano, OIC-Division Chief of the Policy and Program Division, and Atty. Alvin B. Curada, Director IV of the Bureau of Working Conditions (DOLE), with closing remarks delivered by Assistant Secretary Amuerfina R. Reyes.
The 3-day workshop highlighted the importance of collaboration among government agencies, industry stakeholders, and workers’ representatives in shaping practical and effective maritime regulations within the country.
