TOS/Essberger welcomes new NSA Cadetship scholars

AUGUST 15, 2025

Transocean Shipmanagement (TOS)/Essberger proudly congratulates eight aspiring seafarers for their acceptance into the 32nd batch of the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association (NSA) Cadetship Program. These cadets will be pursuing their maritime education at the Davao Merchant Marine Academy College of Southern Philippines (DCSP).

They were formally presented alongside 72 other scholars during the Memorandum of Agreement signing held on August 9 at DCSP in Davao, where Ms. Donna Delgado, TOS Assistant Crewing Manager, represented TOS/PTC. The event also featured Captain Knut Bentzrod, Deputy Director of the Norwegian Training Center (NTC), who leads the NSA Cadet Program.

Managed by the Norwegian Training Center – Manila (NTC-M), the fully sponsored NSA Cadetship Program prepares young Filipinos for careers as ship captains or chief engineers through degrees in Marine Transportation or Marine Engineering. It offers free tuition, lodging, meals for the first two years, specialized training, and the chance to travel worldwide during the apprenticeship.

For PTC and TOS, supporting these eight scholars underscores their commitment to helping young talents achieve their maritime ambitions. With nearly 6,000 graduates since its inception, the NSA Cadetship Program continues to show that, given the opportunity, Filipino seafarers can excel and lead in the global maritime industry.
