The Norwegian Shipowners' Association (NSA) Cadet Program is a premier training initiative dedicated to developing the next generation of Filipino maritime professionals through scholarship grants.
For the 32nd batch, two female Olympic Subsea cadets, Kristine N. Carlobos (Deck) and Janylle A. Montecina (Engine), were among the 80 scholars officially welcomed. Accompanied by their parents, they joined Micca Escamilla, Senior Crewing Manager, and Mayette Bagos, Crewing Manager, as Jebsen PTC Maritime Inc. representatives at the 1st Parents and Cadets Orientation & MOA Signing with Company Orientation, held at DCSP in Davao City on August 9, 2025.
The morning program featured a pinning ceremony to formally welcome the new batch, along with a cadet orientation and Q&A session. In the afternoon breakout session, Olympic Subsea presented its company background, fleet, role in the offshore industry, and expectations for its cadets.
Jebsen PTC continues to champion maritime careers and empower women in the industry, promoting the sustainability of global maritime talent and advancing diversity and inclusion at sea.
Carlobos and Montecina are poised to follow the footsteps of more than 6,000 young Filipinos who have benefited from the NSA Cadet Scholarship Program and are now serving as marine officers aboard international vessels.
