With six years at sea behind him, Emmanuel Matira is setting sail on a new chapter as he joins PTC for the first time. A devoted father to three young children—his two-year-old eldest and twin boys, soon turning one—Emmanuel lives with his wife in Balayan, Batangas. His motivation has always been clear: to provide a secure and brighter future for his family.

“I strive hard to continue my career as a dedicated seafarer to provide for my family,” Emmanuel shared. “I have three kids, so I need to prepare as soon as possible and work hard to give them a good future.”

His dream of becoming a seafarer was sparked early on, inspired by stories from friends and their families who worked in the industry. “I have always wanted to be a seafarer. No one in my family shares this profession, but I’ve heard many stories from my friends’ parents about their seafaring experiences, and I was persuaded,” he recalled.

Emmanuel’s journey with PTC began through the PTC Talent Acquisition Group (TAG), where he was endorsed to the recruitment team. He was impressed by how efficiently and professionally the process was handled.
