The PTC Group, through its Corporate Public Policy, Risks, and Sustainability (SSRB) department, PHILCAMSAT, and PTC RISE, actively participated in the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) from 14 to 18 October 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila. As part of this engagement, PTC Group hosted a booth at the Marketplace, showcasing our disaster risk management practices and initiatives aligned with the goals of the conference.

The APMCDRR is the primary regional platform to monitor, review, and enhance cooperation for the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030. It gathers governments, intergovernmental organizations, the private sector, academia, and civil society to accelerate disaster risk reduction efforts across Asia and the Pacific.

At the Marketplace, PTC Group’s booth emphasized our commitment to human capital development efforts in disaster risk reduction (DRR), recognizing the critical role seafarers play in disaster preparedness and response. PHILCAMSAT showcased training programs that focus on disaster risk awareness and preparedness for maritime professionals, equipping them to effectively respond to emergencies at sea. PTC RISE presented its community engagement initiatives, which aim to bolster local resilience through education and livelihood support, particularly in disaster-prone areas.
