Bridging academia and industry: UST recognizes PTC for collaborative student initiative

Mr. Antonio E. Etrata Jr., Chair of the Marketing Management
Department at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) College of
Commerce and Business Administration, recently visited PTC
to formally recognize the successful collaboration between UST
and PTC Talent Acquisition Group (TAG).

During the visit, Mr. Etrata presented a Plaque of Appreciation to PTC in recognition of
the impactful market research project conducted by UST’s second-year marketing students.

The initiative provided valuable insights into the operations of Philippine Transmarine
Carriers, Inc. (PTCI) and Lifelinks International Resources Inc., allowing students to
engage directly with real-world maritime industry challenges.

The research not only strengthened the academic foundation of the participating students but also highlighted the potential of industry-academic partnerships in driving meaningful learning outcomes and professional development.

Mr. Etrata also had the chance to tour PHILCAMSAT, where he witnessed firsthand The PTC Group’s commitment to excellence in maritime education and training.

With the success of this initial project, both PTC and UST expressed enthusiasm for exploring future collaboration and research projects to enrich student learning and, at the same time, provide fresh perspectives and data-driven analysis that can contribute meaningful ideas to future strategies, potentially in the areas of talent engagement and branding.
