Mapúa-PTC College of Maritime Education
(Mapúa-PTC CMET), a unique industryacademic linkage between PTC and the
Malayan Colleges Laguna, is proud to
announce that it will now be offering a
Master of Science in Shipping Business
program starting in August 2022. This has
been made possible through the partnership
of Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL), a Mapúa
School, and the Business College of Athens
(BCA College), one of the largest educational
institutions in Greece.
“We recognize how challenging
it can be for seafarers and
other professionals to balance
their career and family
responsibilities to obtain a
graduate diploma. We
designed this program to make
learning more accessible to
students around the world at
their own pace, convenience,
and learning style,” MCL’s
CHED consultant and PTC’s
Education and Training Head
C/E Alfredo G. Haboc said.
The MSc Shipping Business program
focuses on the international
shipping business and management,
providing Mapúa-PTC CMET
graduate students with the
analytical and research skills to
assess data in a shipping company
and make administrative as well as
strategic decisions. At the same
time, the program examines the
operational and practical aspects of
shipping jobs, so that graduates can
assume positions of responsibility in
the global shipping sector.

“We envision this program to combine outstanding professional
experience with academic excellence. This also paves the way for our
students to build a strong industry network and provide more
opportunities for leadership positions ashore,” Dean Anthony Canson Jr.,
PTC’s Education and Training Officer said.
MCL, PTC’s education partner for more than a decade, enjoys the
privilege to operate Transnational Education (TNE) programs by the
virtue of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order
No. 12, Series of 2019, granting MCL an autonomous status.
