The spirit of peace shone brightly at the PICC Plenary Hall last December 15, 2017 as members of the PTC Group gathered for “Colors of Peace: A Happy Hippie Christmas Party.” Drawing inspiration from the Woodstock Festival which ushered in an era of love, light and humanity through music, the PTC Group’s annual year-end gathering echoed the season’s aspiration for unity, peace and hope through a lively display of color, music and dance. Prior to the start of the program, employees and guests shared their own messages of peace through the Sketch to Life Activity.
The night started with a welcome speech from PTC CEO Gerardo Borromeo who acknowledged milestones achieved by the Group in 2017, especially the commendable bravery and heroism exhibited by five groups of global maritime professionals who courageously and selflessly took part in crucial rescue efforts at sea over the past year.
Ambassador Carlos C. Salinas, accompanied by Mrs. Isabelita Salinas, also addressed the employees and guests, expressing their happiness at being able to spend the special occasion with their beloved PTC family and likewise congratulating the whole group for everything they have collectively achieved this year.
Principals who have committed to foster competence through the continuous professional development of their crew were recognized at the PHILCAMSAT Awards.
Through entertaining and poignant video presentations, the company’s long-standing employees were honored with Loyalty Awards. Among the honorees was Ms. Betty Dizon, from Business Process Control & Compliance, who has faithfully served PTC for 35 memorable years.
The most awaited portion of the program was once again the group presentations from the various departments and affiliates of the PTC Group which showcased how the colors of peace influenced music and dance through each decade. First-time participant ACM Landholdings, grooving perfectly to the funky beats of the 70s, bagged this year’s championship crown. The Cargo Division and Crewing Support Services, performing a 90s number, claimed 2nd place; while the PTC Support Services and PMC, representing the 80s, was named 3rd place.
The event was hosted by multi-talented TV personality and current public servant, Arnel Ignacio. Rising singer Morisette Amon, finalist of The Voice Philippines, regaled the crowd by belting out powerful ballads and other chart-topping hits. Making the event more memorable were the exciting prizes raffled out throughout the night.
