PTC Holds Data Privacy and Governance Workshop

Aligned with the recent move to set up Business Continuity Teams across the PTC Group, PTC is set to embark on the creation of a Data Governance Office (DGO) tasked with the overall management of the availability, usability, integrity, and security of data entrusted to the organization by its stakeholders. In preparation for this, the company’s Information Communications Technology (ICT) Department conducted a Data Privacy and Governance Workshop last August 31 at the Legaspi Room of First Maritime Place. In attendance were the nominated Data Trustees/Owners, Stewards and Custodians of various PTC Group affiliates and business units who will form the core of the PTC Data Protection Team. With the Philippine Data Protection Act of 2012 as its guide, the DGO will conduct a series of activities involving the conduct of a baseline Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA); formulating a privacy management program; ensuring compliance with DPA’s requirements to manage personal and third party risks and possible data breaches; running mandatory personnel training; and conducting PIAs for new and existing programs, systems, processes and projects.
