PTC employees joined over 1,000 volunteers at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) last September 23 for the annual service marathon called Servathon.
Organized by Hands on Manila Foundation with the theme “Mobilizing Manila for Hope in Mindanao,” this year’s Servathon aimed to help provide basic necessities for the communities in Mindanao, particularly for victims of the Marawi siege currently in evacuation centers.
The volunteers were divided into nine groups consisting of 30 members each and were tasked to assemble different kits composed of soap and mobile learning games. The PTC contingent in particular was assigned to make bottled mosquito repellant to be included in sleeping kits for distribution to families in Marawi.
At the end of the program, the kits were turned over to the International Care Ministries (ICM) and the Community and Family Services International (CFSI) for immediate delivery to Mindanao.
