In celebration of this year’s National Maritime Week, PTC’s Family and Crew Relations organized a series of activities honoring the hard work and sacrifices of all Global Maritime Professionals (GMPs) in bridging us to the world and delivering our needs.
National Maritime Week is celebrated by virtue of Proclamation No. 1094, consolidating the celebration of the National Seafarers Day (NSD), National Maritime Day (NMD) and the National Maritime Week (NMW). This year’s festivities are anchored on the 2017 World Maritime Day theme “Connecting Ships, Ports and People,” which focuses on the many diverse factors involved in shipping and logistics.
From September 25 to 29, 2017, photos showcasing how PTC GMPs connect ships, ports and people through the work that they do were exhibited at the lobby of First Maritime Place.
GMPs were also treated to a weeklong fair featuring various booths from partner sponsors such as First Maritime Credit Corp., Constellation Travels Inc., PhilAm Life, SMART, EastWest HealthCare, RCBC and San Antonio Skills Development Center. PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG Helpdesks were available to accept membership applications, issue IDs and MDRs, and answer member inquiries.
On September 27, GMPs and their families were given pointers on financial literacy at the “Balik Bayani OFW Talk” by Philam Life. The following day, the “Libreng Sakay for PTC GMPs” provided free shuttle transfers from First Maritime Place to the Buendia LRT Station. The week was capped off with a General Assembly for GMPs & Allottees where attendees received the latest updates from their PTC Family and learned advanced investment concepts on retirement from AXA Philippines.
Iloilo-based GMPs and their families also took part in the celebration through a General Assembly headed by PTC SVP for Government Affairs in Maritime and Sectoral Representation Capt. Ronaldo S.J. Enrile held on September 26 at the AMOSUP-Seaman’s Hospital Activity Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Aside from these company-initiated activities, PTC also participated in the National Maritime Week exhibit organized by the Maritime Industry Authority from September 27 to 28 at the PICC Forum in Pasay City. PTC won 3rd Place at the exhibit’s Best Booth Design Contest.
