The Philippine Center for Advanced Maritime Simulation and Training, Inc. (PHILCAMSAT) celebrated its 25th anniversary last May 26, 2017, with a thanksgiving mass followed by a reception for their valued clients held at the Penthouse of First Maritime Place in Makati. A “selfie” photo contest entitled “PHILCAMSAT at 25” was also launched as part of the celebration.
Established in 1992, PHILCAMSAT’s 25 years in the industry is marked by numerous milestones and pioneering initiatives. In addition, PHILCAMSAT is the only institution in Asia certified by the Belgian Maritime Inspectorate.
In 2008, PHILCAMSAT partnered with the country’s premier engineering academic institution, Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL), resulting in the creation of the Mapua-PTC College of Maritime Education and Training (CMET). To further enhance global competitiveness in Filipino seafarers, the Center opened The MAST (Maritime Skills Training Campus) in Maragondon, Cavite, offering STCW courses, as well as, offshore safety and survival courses.
To date, over 130,000 individuals have benefitted from PHILCAMSAT’s world-class competency training, through which they have been able to pursue meaningful maritime careers. As it celebrates its 25th year, PHILCAMSAT remains committed to its mission to transform seafarers into highly-competent global maritime professionals.
